The golden town
Salamanca is a little and cosy Spanish town, located
in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, in the land
of Castilla y León and 212 km. From Madrid.
Salamanca is probably known because of its University,
which is the oldest one in Spain and one of the oldest
in Europe. This student tradition has created such a
special environment, with the old streets packed with
thousands of students, who enjoy themselves in the numerous
and beautiful bars until the dawn.
Nothing compares to be a student in Salamanca.
Salamanca is land of bulls, golden because of the beautiful
Villamayor stone, World HeritageTown and European Capital
of Culture in 2002.It is located in the West of Spain,
in the frontier with Portugal. It is so attractive because
of the beautiful monuments and the mixture of races
which meet in the typical Plaza Mayor. Its history,
which involves a deeply university tradition, has made
that a lot of legends emerge, creating an halo of mistery
and calm.
The large number of beautiful monuments, the culture
that You can breath everywhere and the magic gleam of
the golden stone( everything is covered with this gleam,
even the modern buldings) develope an unique sensation.
Everyone wish to live in Salamanca... or come back,
because everyone falls in love with... Salamanca.
